Ultrasound gathers the individual weight of each animal. Then the scale gives a rate of gain for the time the animal has been here, That gets typed into the ultrasound machine and then the technician places the transducer on the 12th and 13th rib to get an image of the rib measuring marbling, backfat and size. We are then able to tag the animal a certian color depending on how many more days is the optimal feeding period for that animal.
